Mother-Daughter Dates #LittleLoves

I didn't manage to do my Little Loves post last week because essay-writing and other stresses just left me feeling completely drained over the weekend. Luckily, I handed in my final essay this Tuesday so I'm feeling relieved and a little happier now. There were lots of lovely parts of last week, like a trip to the cinema to see The Greatest Showman and then Geraint coming to visit me in Sheffield, but the stress of university work overwhelmed me. This week I've had more time to myself and it's been lovely to have a little break in between my assignments and the start of the new semester.

So here are my little loves from this week...

I have been slowly making my way through The Paying Guests, but I'll admit I've not been making as much time to read as I would like to.

Sundays have become even more wonderful now that Call The Midwife is back on TV and it is the absolute highlight of my week to cosy up on the sofa and escape to the 1960s for an hour. I've also watched loads of Black Mirror which definitely lives up to the hype, I can't get enough of it.

First Aid Kit's latest album, Ruins, has been on a loop all week - I love it so much and it's been the perfect soothing background music when I just want to relax.

I had an induction for my work placement at Grimm & Co. this week, which is an incredible magical apothecary where children can come for writing workshops. I'm going to be working there as part of my Masters course and I wore my little red riding hood print dress to fit in with the storybook theme.

and lastly...
With all the stress and my generally fluctuating moods, I was feeling quite low this week so my mum came to stay with me for the weekend. We went out for burgers and brunch, drank pink wine and shopped 'til we dropped. It was exactly what I needed.
