Afternoon Tea & Discovering Podcasts #LittleLoves

You might have noticed that there was no Little Loves post on here last week, and that's because we had to say goodbye to the most special dog and the weekend was taken up with an awful lot of heartbreak. These posts are here to help me focus on the tiny good moments though, so I made an effort to see the positives this week, despite the little four-legged hole that has been left in my heart. The good moments included a lovely afternoon tea with my mum at Houghwood Golf Club, a night of getting drunk with some of my best friends and a cinema date with Geraint. Here's what else I've loved this week...

I picked up In The Moment magazine last week and I am so glad I did. It's so refreshingly different to the fashion and gossip magazines that I usually see on the shelves. I sat down with the magazine and read quietly without my phone or my laptop to distract me and it was wonderful. It's full of interesting articles and the April issue came with a little booklet of 'happy notes' which I'm posting on my Instagram stories each day to share the positivity.

Me and Geraint had a trip to the cinema on a rainy afternoon this week to see The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I'd heard so many good things about the book - my two best friends Katy and Rosie told me to read it years ago but I never got round to it, so I thought I'd just cheat and watch the film. I hate to admit it, but I really didn't enjoy it. I found the story really predictable and honestly quite boring. I really expected to love it. The good thing was I got another Tango Ice Blast...

We obviously watched some more Mad Men and we watched Signs one night which I really enjoyed. I loved how it felt almost like a comedy at first, but became genuinely tense and frightening as the film went on. Joaquin Phoenix was great as always and tiny Abigail Breslin broke my heart with her cuteness.

I finally listened to Charlotte Jacklin and Liv Purvis's podcast, The Fringe of It, this week and I'm loving it. I don't know why it took me so long to get into podcasts, this one in particular is so easy to listen to. Charlotte and Liv are two of my favourite bloggers - Charlotte's Instagram stories are the absolute pinnacle of entertainment and my claim to fame is that I met Liv at a Slow Club gig in Liverpool in 2011. I completely fangirled over her and can confirm she is just as lovely in real life.

When me and my mum went for afternoon tea, I wore one of my favourite Hearts & Roses dresses and used my adorable new Paul & Joe Sister bag which I found in TKMaxx for £30! I don't think I've ever been as excited over a bargain find in my whole life - it was supposed to cost £130.

and lastly...
One little win of this week was finding the rhubarb and raspberry gins in Lidl at long last. They taste just like the Edinburgh Gin liqueurs but are so much cheaper.
